After many requests, Verna Faye began teaching art several years ago. She has developed and taught several different curriculums, both in drawing and in painting. "I am not teaching you how to draw necessarily, but I am teaching you to see," she often says. She has taught private lessons as well as small group classes.
Drawing: The fundamentals of seeing shapes, values, shading as well as perspective, forming a center of interest, and how to use several tools and other tips to make drawing easier.
Portraits made easy: Both drawing (graphite) and watercolor.
Watercolor: Fundamentals of watercolor, washes, glazes, textures, values and hues. In her classes you learn about composition, where to place a center of interest, how to handle the foreground, mid ground and background in order to build depth in your painting. As well, you learn about the characteristics of each color, as well as complimentary colors, etc.
Again, Verna Faye keeps her classes small, as well as teaches on a private basis. Bring a friend and enjoy drawing or painting lessons at Verna's studio in Canby, Oregon.
Contact Verna Faye for schedule of upcoming classes or workshops. Prices vary according to class size and length of class.
Quote from a student: "I was an adult "student" who had never been exposed to art, until now. Verna Faye has opened a new world to me and I am continuing in the pursuit of art, thanks to her!"
